    The hazards OSHA identifies

OSHA’s oil and gas extraction guidance describes hazards from high-pressure lines and compressed gases. Internal erosion can lead to leaks or line bursts, and failed connections can create struck-by hazards. The guidance provides links to further material on compressed gases and pressure vessels.

    Use the crew discussion well

OSHA emphasizes evaluating worksite hazards, communicating them and training workers. For this week’s reminder, bring a straightforward question to the pre-job discussion: which of those pressure-related hazards applies to the task the crew is about to perform?

Connect the discussion to the actual job

The answer should lead back to the company’s established site procedures and controls. The people responsible for the work can confirm which procedure applies and how the crew will communicate during the task. A general article cannot determine the appropriate procedure for a particular piece of equipment or worksite.
